HI! My name is Ashton.
I am the founder of Rebel Minds Learning. I am originally from the United States, but have been living and teaching abroad in Latin America for over 8 years now. My educational background includes a bachelors degree in K-12 special education and a masters degree in educational psychology. I have nearly a decade of special and general education teaching experience and am bilingual in Spanish and English.
I hold initial certification and ongoing training under a mentor from the Orton Gillingham Academy to deliver interventions using the Orton Gillingham Method. But beyond my qualifications I am a curiosity driven learner, a dog lover, adventure seeker, and all around advocate for my fellow rebel learners out there!

Methodical and Consistent
When in-person school resumed in 2021 after the pandemic, our daughter (8 years old at the time) was noticeably struggling with reading and we had the opportunity to sign her up for additional reading help with Ms. Ashton. After just a few weeks, our daughter was advancing leaps and bounds, and best of all she looked forward to the time she could spend with Ms. Ashton. Her demeanor with my daughter was caring and patient, she was methodical and consistent in her Orton Gillingham approach, and she was passionate about helping her master the fundamentals of reading. Now my daughter is in the 4th grade and is an avid reader of chapter books which couldn’t make me happier. I can’t recommend Ms. Ashton enough!

How are the sessions conducted?
Sessions are conducted online via secure video conferencing platforms, ensuring convenience and accessibility for students worldwide.
What are the requirements for virtual sessions?
A fast a reliable internet connection is needed. It is also important the student has something to write on such as a mini whiteboard.
What are the available days and hours for sessions?
Sessions typically take place Monday through Friday across multiple time zones. Availability is limited, but we do the best we can to meet the scheduling needs of each family and student.
What kind of commitment is involved in order for my child to receive support?
Regardless of the type of service, a commitment to growth requires regular attendance to sessions. The amount of sessions will depend on each students unique needs.
How much do services the cost?

How do I start with getting my child services?
To start with any of the services listed, simply reach out to us via our “Contact” page. We’ll schedule an initial consultation to discuss your goals, answer any questions, and determine the best plan tailored to your child’s needs.
How do I know if the sessions are helping my child?
A bi-weekly report will be written and sent. It will outline the skills and topics your child is working on, as well as progress that has been made, and areas the child needs additional reinforcement in.
